We need to go around to our feeding stations and shelters and give them a good cleaning. It’s time to fill them with new straw so that our cats will have nice places to stay warm, safe, and cozy!

More Tips
After you have cleaned up your feeding area and replaced the straw as the weather gets colder, think about how much and what kinds of food to give. Don’t forget how to keep your water from freezing right away!
Some feeders will only put out dry food, as it won’t freeze like wet food. But if you have a colony that you feed on a schedule and they are ready and waiting, it’s best to stay with the wet food. Hydration is tough for cats in the winter!

Some may think it isn’t necessary to clean up shelters, but it makes a lot of difference to the kitties on the streets. Do you have an awesome Community Cat Shelter or any special tips? Share your photos with us on Facebook!
