October 7, 2017This week, we have something particularly fun for you! Operation Paw’s Parody Music Video, with parodies Rick Ross’ “Trap Trap Trap” is hot, hot, hot!
Catherine Duarte has been a cat lover for many years, but only recently learned about TNR. Since than, she’s been volunteering with Operation Paw, a Miami rescue. Because kitten season in Miami is almost year-round, they still have a hard time keeping up with population growth. This is despite the number of trappings that they do.
They decided to be a little creative. In order to draw attention to the 400,000 community cats in Miami, they made a parody of Rick Ross’s Trap Trap Trap.
Hopefully, this video will help them raise awareness and more people will join their efforts! They would love additional recruits for Miami-Dade’s TNR program, CATTI (Community Action Targeted Trapping Initiative).
Without further adieu, here you go!

Click bait alert – kittens, Feline Rick Ross and the Notorious Lafayette 2Fangz
(Miami, FL) “Being a kitten in Miami ain’t easy!” says Tia Williams from Operation PAW, a local non-profit cat rescue. While kitten season sounds very cute, the reality is that thousands of kittens are born to either die in the streets or be turned away from shelters because of lack of resources to save them. These kittens are born because community cats (cats that live outside) are not sterilized. But Operation PAW & CATTI have a master plan – Trap Trap Trap Miami!
In an effort to raise awareness of this critical issue, the volunteers produced a parody video of Rick Ross’ “Trap Trap Trap.” The video includes footage of the group trapping cats in Overtown, Little Havana and other Miami neighborhoods. The video also features “Feline Rick Ross” and the Notorious Lafayette 2Fangz, an adorable cat that will make your heart melt.
Trap Neuter Return (known as TNR) is an evidence-based strategy to control and reduce the feline population and, best of all, prevent kittens from suffering. In 2012, Miami-Dade Animal Services Department embraced the TNR strategy and since then more than 30,000 community cats have been sterilized, vaccinated, dewormed and returned to their location to live healthier lives.
Operation PAW
Most recently, Operation PAW partnered with the North Shore Animal League to transport more than 60 kittens from Miami to New York to find their forever homes, after several of their foster homes suffered from no electricity and were overloaded from taking in so many cats & kittens before and after Hurricane Irma.
This video will definitely make you laugh and give a more positive meaning to “trapping.” These volunteers are committed to trapping as many of the estimated 400,000 community cats in Miami as they can. “We hope that people realize they can make a difference and change these cat lives for the better. We would love to have many more volunteers, trappers, fosters, adopters and donors because of our video!” says Bibiana Salmon, a prolific trapper who has caught thousands of cats in Miami.
