National Feral Cat Day is officially recognized on October 16 – but we can celebrate cats and trappers all month long! This year, we circled back with some of the folks who won a free Tomahawk trap during our TNR Certification Workshops to see whether they’ve been able to put their prize (and their TNR knowledge) to work in their community. Here’s what they had to say:

“Oh my gosh yes, I LOVE the trap! It helped me catch a mama cat that took me over a month to get with a different trap. As soon as I brought out the Tomahawk trap, it literally took 5 minutes to trap her.” – Halle J

“I love this trap, it’s amazing. I work for a shelter and I use it for TNR in our county.” –Becca J

“I have trapped an entire colony, partially with this trap, and actually finished TNR on the endure colony in September (I started in June). 25 adult cats, and oh so many kittens rescued, fostered, and adopted out!” – Tonia D

“We have a family of eight cats who often stay behind our building, and since the TNR certification workshop we’ve managed to catch 5 of them for TNR. We’re still working on the remaining three, they’re the two adults (a bit more wary than the kittens) plus one baby who is just faster than the others.” – Michael M

“It seems this trap lives up to its reputation. The night that I caught this kitten, several already-TNRed cats walked into this trap as well, but the sound of it closing did not deter other cats, including a HUGE male, and also this kitten, from eventually going in… separately of course lol.” – Dana C

“Three feral females gave birth to kittens in my yard this spring, so I started to look into options and discovered TNR. I was TNRing with a collapsible, flimsy trap that snapped closed really aggressively and would malfunction frequently. It didn’t give me a lot of confidence. I was so new to TNR, so I was already lacking confidence in my ability to tackle what seemed like an insurmountable challenge. I purchased one Tomahawk trap right before the workshop to replace the old one. I was so surprised to win one during the workshop that I cried! I’m so thankful for the trap I received because I’ve been able to TNR much more confidently and effectively. It’s been a game-changer doing my small part for the neighborhood.” – Taylor M

Many thanks to Tomahawk Live Trap for their continued support of our TNR Certification Workshops, and helping more folks turn their passion for cats into action.
