A Call to Action for Creating Statewide Community Cat Networks

Since 2004 there has been a network of cat trappers and rescuers who have worked together to help curb feline over population in Massachusetts. It is called Masscats and is a simple yahoo group that follows the framework of freecycle. This is where folks can post requests for assistance and help each other be able to help more cats. Thanks to the hard work of moderator Jannel Fitzpatrick, this group continues with over 400 members and is very active. I feel comfortable in saying that thousands of lives have been saved by this network! But now I have A Call to Action for Creating Statewide Community Cat Networks.

I would like to see us form an active Mass Cats group in every state. These network’s save lives and help educate folks on what we do.
