We have so much going on and it feels like we are all busier than ever.  Here are 5 quick things that you can share with friends on Facebook, the public, etc to make a difference in the lives of cats. I look forward to seeing all of you at the Online Cat Conference.

  1. Download the Paper Collar Template
We all worry that a cat in our backyard might not be owned.  Download the paper collar template and use a it to determine if a cat you think is a stray is owned or not owned.  Print out our paper collar template and put it on the kitty for 2 weeks to see if there is a response.  You will be amazed at how many people get a response from this solution.  Do you want to know more? 2. Research Affordable Spay/Neuter Options
Now is the perfect time of year to revisit the list of spay/neuter and veterinary practices in your area. Check the low-cost spay/neuter directory on www.unitedspayalliance.org to find pricing and availability for clinics near you. If you need help sourcing spay/neuter resources, ask a State Leader!
  3. For Organizations, Define Your Target Area
If you’re part of an organization, it’s crucial to pinpoint your target areas. Conduct a Google search for median income by towns in your state, using resources like usa.com. Identify the towns with the lowest median income in your region and select 2-3 communities to establish as priority zones, based on your organization’s resources. Focusing on these feline opportunity zones can lead to significant positive changes.
  4. Commit to Fundraising
Fundraising is key to helping more cats. Consider dedicating a substantial portion of your time to fundraising efforts. While others work to reduce cat overpopulation, your fundraising contributions can make a huge impact.
  5. Keep It Simple
Streamline your efforts and aim to provide services as efficiently for 1,000 cats as you would for 10 cats. Batch your work, create realistic schedules, and allow time for recovery.
